Ron Das, President, CEO and Founder |
Ron has 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in product development and silicon operations with both established large companies and fabless start-ups. Prior to founding Siliconaire, Inc., Ron was Vice President of Operations at Atheros Communications, a leader in WLAN market. Ron joined Atheros at a very early stage and built the operations technical capability, infrastructure and strong relationship with the suppliers to take the world’s first CMOS 802.11a RF transceivers into high volume manufacturing with perfect quality records. This helped in growing the company revenue rapidly from zero to a $180M per year run rate leading to a successful IPO.
Before Atheros, Ron was Vice President of Operations at NewPort Communications. As one of its first employees, Ron was responsible for developing successful OC-192 SONET products into manufacturing volumes leading to an acquisition of the company. Previously, Ron held Director level positions at Cirrus Logic and AMD. At Cirrus, Ron managed two operations joint ventures – one with IBM and the other with Lucent Technologies – among various other foundries to support the company’s $0.5 - $1.0B revenue. At AMD, Ron was responsible for outsourced operations including a venture with Fujitsu supporting $400M revenue. Ron was also one of the key contributors in transitioning AMD from Bipolar to CMOS by developing several generations of products and technologies.
Ron has been very active in the fabless semiconductor industry panels and conferences. Ron’s leadership was acknowledged by industry peers by electing him to serve as a Board member of the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA) during 2001 – 2004. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Santa Barbara. |

Snehal Shah, Vice President of Operations |
Snehal has 20 years of semiconductor industry experience with several early-stage fabless start-up companies focusing on mixed-signal SOC implementation in the COT model. Prior to joining Siliconaire, Snehal was Director of Operations at Parama Networks where developed products for SONET/SDH applications utilizing 0.13u process, 25-layer flip-chip substrates and 3.2 gbps test plans. Prior to that, Snehal was Director of Operations at Sage where he managed a successful conversion from turnkey to COT development from ground level to volume manufacturing of flat panel display controllers - which led to a successful IPO. Before that, Snehal held senior management
positions at Tripath and Startech where he managed product development to support a successful IPO and an acquisition respectively. Previously, Snehal held several engineering and management positions at Sierra Semiconductor and National Semiconductor. He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Oakland University, Rochester, MI. |
